Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Cusco Walking Tour

Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by one of our representatives and transferred directly to your hotel. You will have the morning free to rest and acclimate to the city's altitude, as well as to enjoy lunch on your own.

Around midday, you will begin a guided walking tour through the historic center of Cusco, where you can observe the fascinating blend of Andean and Spanish cultures. You will stroll through the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) to view the Cathedral and iconic colonial churches, and explore the beautiful, ancient Inca streets. The tour also includes a visit to the Qoricancha Temple, the legendary Great Temple of the Sun. To conclude the experience, your guide will take you to the bustling San Pedro Market to immerse yourself in local flavors and culture.

Day 2: Train to Aguas Calientes – Journey to Machu Picchu

In the morning, our transport will pick you up and take you to the Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you will enjoy a scenic 1-hour and 40-minute journey on the Expedition-class train.

Upon arriving at the Aguas Calientes station, you will board the shuttle bus that takes you up to the entrance of the Machu Picchu Inca citadel. Our expert guide will lead you through the main sectors of these spectacular ruins, where you can stroll across the town squares and walk along the intricately carved stone staircases. Today, Machu Picchu stands as a spiritual center of the world.

Following the guided tour, you will have free time to admire the site at your own pace. At the designated time, you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night. The town of Aguas Calientes is very charming, and many visitors enjoy visiting the local natural hot springs in their free time.

Day 3: Sunrise at Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu Mountain Hike

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for a short 30-minute shuttle bus ride back up to the Machu Picchu citadel. You will experience a magnificent sunrise over the mountains of Machu Picchu and feel the pure magic of this wonderful, mystical place.

We will then head to the checkpoint to begin our hike up Huayna Picchu Mountain, uncovering spectacular landscapes all the way to the summit. From the top, you will be able to fully appreciate the vastness of the Machu Picchu ruins below.

While the climb is not technical, it is not recommended for beginners. It is a fairly strenuous and steep hike that features rock steps and sections alongside exposed ridges. Upon returning from Huayna Picchu, you will have some time to rest before taking the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch on your own.

In the afternoon, you will head to the train station for your return journey to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival, our transport will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4: Flight to Lima – International Departure
