Cusco City Tour – Day 01: Qoricancha and the Four Ruins
Travelers will be picked up from their hotel at the scheduled time. After a short drive, we will begin our tour with a visit to the Temple of Qorikancha, an impressive structure built during the height of the Inca Empire.
Afterward, we will leave the city of Cusco and travel to the magnificent fortress of Sacsayhuamán, located just 20 minutes from the former Inca capital. Here, you will walk alongside enormous Inca walls constructed from massive limestone blocks, some weighing up to 128 tons. These stones were carved and fitted together with astonishing precision, showcasing the extraordinary engineering skills of the Incas.
We will then continue to another fascinating Inca site known as Qenqo. This mysterious archaeological complex features underground passages and a finely carved rock formation believed to have been used by the Incas for ceremonial purposes, possibly including the mummification of important members of their society.
Our tour concludes with visits to the impressive Inca baths of Tambomachay and the military outpost of Puka Pukara. After exploring these remarkable archaeological sites, we will return to the city of Cusco, marking the end of the tour.
